An Invitation to Live

Don’t wait for an invitation to participate;
To the party of life, you don’t want to be late;
If you let it pass you by you will eventually hate
That you have grown so old before you partake.

I can understand if you are shy or reserved;
You might fear those paths that are narrow or curved;
But life is an opportunity only once served,
To waste it just watching, to me, is absurd.

If you need assistance, just give me a call,
I will happily escort into the ball,
Even if we do not agree on any political cause,
I would rather you live than put life on a pause.

So, if an invitation is something you need,
Accept as yours this poetical plead;
Start living life to its fullest, indeed;
In others help plant the activity seed.
