America’s Soul

Don’t speak unkind words to each other,
Just because your politics do not align;
Always stand up to the bully pulpit,
Helping your brother maintain a stiff spine.

Platforms should not be divisive;
Policies shouldn’t plant the seeds of hate;
If we cannot come out of it still civilized,
We should not walk into the debate.

When neighbors become our enemies,
Real adversaries start to win;
The best way to stop the cancer
Is to never let the sickness begin.

Left and right can meet in the middle,
Focused on a common goal;
The only way to keep America Great
Is to collectively be her soul.
